CAN launches first-ever Core Camp with 52 players
Cricket Assoiciation of Nepal (CAN ) launches first-ever Core Camp with 52 players

In a groundbreaking initiative to strengthen its national cricket setup, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has launched a high-intensity Core Camp. An intensive selection and development program featuring 52 players, blending seasoned performers with exciting young talents, including emerging stars from the recently concluded PM Cup, and a few standout U19 prospects added to the initial group of 48.
The camp follows a double round-robin format, with matches scheduled between April 26 and May 3 at both Upper and Lower Mulpani cricket grounds. Each team will face the others twice, offering ample opportunity for players to impress selectors and refine their game in a competitive setting.
This initiative comes at a crucial time, as Nepal has managed to win only two of its last 12 CWC League 2 matches. The Core Camp serves as both a selection trial and a much-needed boost to domestic cricket, offering exposure to rising talents and helping the national team management assess squad depth.
This provides a great opportunity for fresh talent to break into the national team. The selection process will be overseen by Nepal’s newly appointed head coach – Stuart Law, who will get his first chance to evaluate the players and build a strong lineup for the upcoming matches.
This is the first time such an extensive camp has been organized, with the aim of identifying top talent and forming a competitive squad for Nepal’s upcoming tour of Scotland.
The players have been divided into four balanced teams: Blue, Green, Red, and Yellow, each featuring 13 members.Fans have praised CAN for this proactive move, seeing it as a vital step toward rebuilding and revitalising Nepal cricket
